Spring / Silver Swans® Ballet – M

This is a 12 week class. We are excited to introduce a ballet exercise class specifically designed by the Royal Academy of Dance based on research into best exercise practice for older people. These classes maintain the Pilates principles of breath, balance and flowing movement to create elegant poise and wonderful posture.  They improve core strength and balance and can help with osteoporosis and falls prevention. Importantly they are sociable and fun.  Although designed for the over 55s, everyone is welcome. Ballet shoes are not essential for your first session but your teacher will guide you should you love it so much that you decide to enrol for the term. Maximum of 10 participants. Spring term

Spring / Rehab Reformer 1 – M (Short Course)

This is a 6 week class. Our specialised Rehabilitation Pilates Reformer class is designed for clients who due to injury, surgery or chronic pain cannot attend other Reformer classes. This class is taught in a small group – maximum 4 people – so you can expect exercises tailored to your specific needs and physical limitations, guided by a highly experienced Pilates instructor who is also a Chartered Physiotherapist. The Reformer provides resistance and assistance, helping you move safely and effectively without strain. Look to build your strength and flexibility and improve your balance and coordination. This class is ideal if you are • Recovering from orthopaedic injuries (e.g., back, knee, shoulder) • Post-surgery (with medical clearance) • Managing a condition such as osteopenia, osteoporosis, arthritis or scoliosis If you have severe osteoporosis, please contact before booking this class.

This is a 12 week class. These Pilates classes on the mat concentrate on how to master the 36 original classical exercises designed for execution on the mat. Movement will become much more flowing and dynamic and therefore challenging. Maximum of 12 participants. You are very welcome to join a class once the term has commenced.

This is a 12 week class. These Reformer Pilates classes are for those who have already had at least 10 sessions on the Reformer either privately or in groups. Movement will become more dynamic and challenging working with a moving platform whilst patterning movement. Maximum of 4 participants. Spring / Upright & Strong – T (Short Course)

This is a 6 week class. This class is perfect for anyone who spends lots of time at a desk, feels their balance isn’t what it was, wants to improve muscular strength and bone density or just wants to feel more upright and aligned in everyday life. The passage of time and the rigours of daily life can leave us all feeling more stooped and tight across our neck, chest and shoulders. Increasingly longevity research is highlighting the importance of building and maintaining muscle mass as we age. It is also known that resistance work is essential to improving the quality of our bone density as our hormone balances shift through life. We have designed this Pilates class to help you stand taller and feel stronger. It’s about building strength from the inside out, with a focus on muscle development and bone density balance and posture optimisation. It will be taught by a very experienced teacher who is also a Chartered Physiotherapist and in a small group with a maximum of 8 people. This is a 12 week class. These advanced Pilates classes on the mat are for those who want to learn the classical mat in its purest form and in the correct sequence. These classes have a fast tempo with flowing transitions. Not suitable for anyone with an injury. Maximum of 12 participants. You are very welcome to join a class once the term has commenced.

This is a 12 week class. These Reformer classes are equivalent to the advanced mat and are for those who have had 30 plus sessions on the Reformer either in groups or privately. They are fast in tempo and flowing in transitions demanding really good technique. Not suitable for anyone with an injury. Maximum of 4 participants. This is a 12 week class. These Reformer Pilates classes are for those who have never done Pilates before or may have done some mat work but are keen to work on the Reformer. Emphasis will be placed on learning to use the machine to give the body resistance and support. Maximum of 4 participants. You are very welcome to join a class once the term has commenced.

Spring / Early Intermediate Mat – W Sold Out

This is a 12 week class. These Pilates classes on the mat offer a perfect transition between Improver and Intermediate Mat Classes. They are perfect for those who want to progress but at a slightly slower pace, maybe due to a previous injury or current movement restriction. Maximum of 12 participants.
