You are probably reading this because you are experiencing back pain. Rest assured you are not alone…In fact 80% of the adult population suffer from back pain at some time in their life and 1 in 5 of these people are living with chronic back pain.
Now for the good news! Back pain can often be prevented, managed or eradicated by Pilates as it is a gentle, effective form of exercise. Indeed, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence advocate that people with back pain should be actively encouraged to embark on a structured individualised exercise programme over a prescribed period of time to help manage or eradicate their back pain.
Your Pilates session will be taught by one of our teachers who are a qualified Back Pain practitioner so you can have total peace of mind that you will receive expert care and advice. You will be shown exercises that both offer relief and improve your quality of movement. You will be encouraged to self-manage your condition by being given exercises to perform at home in between sessions.
Although we strongly advise that initially you have one-on-one tuition if you are experiencing back pain we think you will be surprised how many clients go on to attend our normal scheduled group pilates classes after a relatively short period of time.
